A RETRO PERSPECTIVE: REVISITING PRINTS FROM THE PERMANENT COLLECTION
In 1973, the Norton Center celebrated its grand opening with an exhibition of works loaned by the Guggenheim Museum. Many of the artists who were featured are now considered pioneers of Modern Art — artists including Andy Warhol, Karel Appel and Adolph Gottlieb. The exhibition inspired Centre College to actively collect graphic prints by these artists and their contemporaries. To celebrate the Norton Center’s 50th anniversary, selections from this special collection will be exhibited throughout the season.

🌟 October 23, 1991 • This performance of the internationally renowned 𝐁𝐨𝐥𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐢 𝐁𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐭 was led by stars Ekaterina Maximovia and Vladimir Vasiliev.
🌟 March 15, 2014 • The 𝐀𝐥𝐯𝐢𝐧 𝐀𝐢𝐥𝐞𝐲 𝐀𝐦𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐃𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐓𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐫 was founded to preserve and express the universality of the African-American experience through dance. Alicia Graf Mack, the then-principal dancer for the company, led a masterclass with Centre students before their 2014 performance.
🌟 January 26, 2020 • 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐒𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐡𝐚𝐢 𝐁𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐭`s 𝑇ℎ𝑒 𝐵𝑢𝑡𝑡𝑒𝑟𝑓𝑙𝑦 𝐿𝑜𝑣𝑒𝑟𝑠 told the beautiful and bittersweet story of star-crossed lovers who reunite after their deaths as butterflies.
🌟 January 10, 2022 • Fan-favorite dance/illusionist company 𝐌𝐎𝐌𝐈𝐗 first performed on the Newlin Hall stage in 2004, finally returning for another spectacular show in 2022, and once more for this season.
